Using a Laboratory Model Test to Evaluate Collapsibility of Gypseous Soils Improved by Sludge

چکیده
Collapsibility of gypseous soils may cause excessive settlement and severe damage to engineering structures. Many improvement methods have been employed reduce the collapsibility these soils, such as by using physical or chemical additives. The improved has conventionally evaluated odometer test, which not accurately replicate field conditions because small size test specimens. In this research, a laboratory model 600x600x600 mm with footing 100x100mm was developed measure collapse characteristics sandy soil gypsum content 37%. first conducted on specimens in at three different relative densities. then performed after compacting top layer [thickness from 50 100 mm] maximum dry density, obtained Standard Compaction Test. Water treatment sludge also used further improve compacted layer. results indicated that reduction factor 75% when thickness density. Additionally, layer, 86%.

Shigella flexneri causes a severe form of bacillary dysentery characterized by cramping, diarrhea, and fever. S. flexneri uses a type three seceretion system (TTSS) to invade the colonic epithelium by injecting effector proteins directly into the host cell cytoplasm. The TTSS consists of a basal body, spanning both the outer and inner membranes, and a surface exposed needle. After the proper en...

15 صفحه اولUsing Miniature Cone Penetration Test (Mini-CPT) to determine engineering properties of sandy soils
In-situ testing techniques have proven to be successful in improving the speed and reliability of geotechnical investigations. One of the most common in-situ methods in engineering geology and site investigation is Cone Penetration Test (CPT), which is mainly used for characterization of soils, as it is a robust, simple, fast, reliable and economic test that can provide continuous soundings of ...
متن کاملA Study of the conditions of non- sedimentation in Karkhe Inverted Siphon by using a Laboratory Model
Deposition of sediment inside the conduit structures reduces the flow cross section area and increases the flow roughness which causes reduction of flow discharge passing through the conduit. Among the methods which can prevent sediment deposition is non sedimentation condition in the structure, Since the critical section of the inverted siphon in sedimentation is the outlet. In the begining of...
